This past weekend The Good Cheer pointed their van eastward and, accompanied by The Remus Lupins, headed to Arizona for some rocking. Big ups to Tyler (Remus Lupins' bass player)'s mom who hooked up the travelers with some delicious peanut butter balls. This next song goes out to you, ma'am.
The Good Cheer played a killer show on Friday with good friends Evan Brightly. ("I hear they can wail." "You're right.") Check out this video from that show featuring the new Good Cheer tune "It's Not Okay" with Evan Brighty assisting on percussion.
On Saturday, the three aforementioned bands all patronized their favorite AZ-town (don't call it AZ-town) digs.......Chino Bandito! Chinese Mexican fusion at its very best. After their delicious dinner, they all drove to a park to celebrate this successful pairing of two unlikely cultures. The dancing, music bumping from their vehicles, hooting and/or hollering attracted the attention of local law enforcement who crashed their park party and gave them a firm talking-to about the dangers of driving their cars on the grass. So next time they'll know better. Sunday found the Good Cheer sharing the stage with The Remus Lupins at the Trunk Space. The whole crowd was really into their sets and singing along throughout. Ten points for the Trunk Space crowd for their support and coolness. It was a great weekend all around. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make this a really great trip.
In future news, the Good Cheer has two shows coming up this week. Saturday, Sept 29 is the first annual indoor campfire with Evan Brightly, The Remus Lupins, and Blackout 101. This is going to be an acoustic, audience participation (i.e., sing-along, clap-along, chill-along) show. Bring a pilow, sleeping bag, a cord of firewood, or any other campfire-related items you can think of. Then on Monday, Oct 1 the band will be back to playing their full-on rock set at Safari Sams, sharing the stage with The Stiletto Formal (currently on tour with Jimmy Eat World), The Hanks, Think Alike, and Vas Defrans. Come check it out.
Thanks again for visiting!
